“I go America, I come back… Pekin like me go Holland… Mama see me on MTV” Deng overwhelmed as he receives Fellow of Global Impact title

Liberia’s beloved music sensation Daniel E. George, popularly known as DENG the man behind the timeless classic “I go America, I come back… Pekin like me go Holland… Mama sees me on MTV… Why I mon spoil your name for?” has added yet another historic milestone to his legendary career.
DENG was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame, conferred with the prestigious title of “Fellow of Global Impact,” and presented with the Africa Intercontinental Award at the 2026 Golden Image Award in the International Category of Culture and Education Excellence in Music and Academics.
The iconic artist, whose music has transcended generations and borders, expressed overwhelming gratitude following the recognition.
“I’m still overwhelmed with gratitude after yesterday. I am deeply honoured to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, conferred with the title of ‘Fellow of Global Impact’, and presented with the Africa Intercontinental Award at the 2026 Golden Image Award in the International Category of Culture and Education – Excellence in Music and Academics,” Deng said.
“This recognition means more to me than words can express. Coming from Liberia and being recognized on an international stage is a reminder that dreams are valid and that hard work never goes unnoticed.”
The award, which celebrates excellence in both music and academics, places Deng among an elite class of African cultural ambassadors making an impact far beyond the continent’s borders.
In a heartfelt dedication, Deng thanked his family, fans across Liberia and the globe, and his hardworking team, declaring: “This achievement is just as much yours as it is mine.”
He also extended special gratitude to Ambassador Julie Endee, the Government of Liberia, and the Golden Image Award organizers for making the opportunity possible.
DENG’s rise from the streets of Liberia to international acclaim with his music echoing from America to Europe and his face appearing on MTV has long been an inspiration to young Liberians. This latest honour cements his legacy not only as a musical icon but as a global ambassador of Liberian culture.
